- Redistricting is a process outlined in the Missouri constitution when boundaries of political districts are redrawn every ten years to ensure each district has an equal number of residents.
- Gerrymandering is when politicians redraw the boundaries of congressional districts to try to rig the outcome of an election for a particular party, sometimes outside of the regular ten year redistricting cycle.
- Yes. Politicians drew the Missouri First map to try to eliminate a seat currently held by Congressman Emanuel Cleaver in Kansas City.
- The gerrymander divides Kansas City into thirds, combining the northern part with the Illinois/Iowa border, the central part with the University of Missouri in Columbia and the southern part with the Lake of the Ozarks.
- Proposition A is what is known as a citizen referendum. It allows Missouri citizens to decide if they want to accept the politicians’ latest gerrymander or keep Missouri’s previous congressional districts that were drawn in the normal redistricting process and were used in the 2022 and 2024 elections.
- A yes vote means politicians’ new gerrymandered congressional district map will be used for the 2028 and 2030 midterm elections.
- A yes vote will make it harder to hold DC politicians accountable to Missouri voters.
- A no vote means we will keep the map that was drawn under the regular process and that was used in the last two election cycles.

- Typically, Missouri voters do not vote on acts of the state legislature. But a group of Republicans, Independents, and Democrats called People Not Politicians submitted the signatures of more than 305,000 Missourians asking for a vote on this.
